From Idea to Reality: Transitioning to Proactive Workplace Health.

On the 23rd of June, Employ Health was proud to host our first partner event. It was a valuable opportunity for our partners meet and share knowledge and stories on their journey to proactive workplace health.

A huge thank you to Jason Graham of PepsiCo for welcoming our network to his site and sharing the journey of the PepsiCare program. The PepsiCare story is a remarkable one, and a great example of how starting with strong belief and vision, having uncompromising leadership support and the commitment to care for the health and wellbeing of your workforce can lead to massive improvements in culture, productivity and injury costs.

Employ Health Director, Matthew Stewart, also presented on how the proactive paradigm can transform your business. Matthew shared his views on the emerging challenge of the ageing workforce, drew parallels between how some of the best sporting organisations in the world view their people and their health with that of business, and discussed what ‘proactive’ really means and how it can engage your workforce.  Finally, Matt provided practical steps to help your business along the path to truly proactive workplace health.

We also invited Jillian Hamilton, the founder and CEO of Manage Damage, to join Jason and Matthew in a Q&A session.  We are fortunate to be able to call on Jillian's experience in the field of health risk management (particularly insurance risk) and we value her ability to think out side the box to find solutions. The Q&A session and subsequent feedback about the event identified that making the financial case for proactive workplace health as a key area that our partners would like further discussion on.  This will be that main topic at our next event.

Employ health are fortunate to partner with businesses who are leading the way in terms of being proactive and preparing for the future challenges such as an ageing workforce.  However, the challenges that we all face are immense, and we see it as vital to meet and share ideas and knowledge. Thank you to our partners for being part of this event.

We will be welcoming our partners in Victoria to join us for a similar event in August.
